What book did you study which brought you into the org? Is it now defunct?
by James_Slash ini think we can all gather that given the major doctrinal changes over the past few decades, a lot of books are now defunct for one reason or another whether that be doctrinal changes or simply that they are now inaccurate in line with todays teachings.. so which book convinced you that it was the 'truth' and brought you into the organisation and is it now defunct?.
mine was the knowledge that leads to everlasting life published in 2000. i don't know for sure, but i can't imagine that this book is completely accurate given the changes recently regarding generation..

Greetings!
by Merkaba ini am a twenty-eight year old ex-witness.
at the age of fifteen i had developed an alcohol and drug problem mainly due to my dysfunctional upbringing.
my parents were divorced at a young age causing my mother to run to the witnesses for emotional support and fellowship during a trying time.

My Moms shepherding call re: the organisation
by James_Slash inthe elder in addition to the paedophile problem stated that not even "half" of the jw's at meetings are "proper witnesses".
he said the lifestyle of many are ruining the organisation for the majority.. i thought it was most interesting that despite his gripes with the religious leaders, jesus still used the temple to communicate with god despite eventually god removing his blessing from the jewish nation.. he intimated that eventually this would happen with the jw's.
its a funny comment for an elder to make..

UK Grandparents will get legal right to see grandchildren after divorce battles
by Black Sheep ingrandparents will get legal right to see grandchildren after divorce battlesfor the first time, separating parents will be expected to ensure grandparents continue to have a role in the lives of their children after they split up.. parenting agreements will be drawn up that explicitly set out contact arrangements for grandparents.
these can then be used as evidence in court if a mother or father goes back on the deal.. the recommendation is part of a sweeping review of the family justice regime commissioned by the government and led by david norgrove, a former civil servant.. the government is likely to accept the recommendations after nick clegg, the deputy prime minister, said last year that it was crazy that millions of grandparents lost contact after separation and divorce.
he said that they played a vital role if relationships broke down.. in 2009, 113,949 divorces were registered in england and wales.
